I am new to powder coating. I have been researching over a year and have been around the industry for 30 plus years, as my hobbies include hot rods and offshore boats. I repair all of my toys myself and most everything is powder coated. My setup has an 8 foot ground rod in my shop next to the booth and quality ground cables installed. I started with a competitors dual voltage gun and it worked OK and I was getting frustrated as you basically had to hokey pokey with it to get it to work, i.e. shake the cup, hold a button, stand on one leg...I unboxed the Kool Koat and followed the quick setup instructions and sprayed a set of pulleys for a Grand National project. Insane the difference. Used very minimal powder and it stuck like glue. Cured immaculate. I compared quality with a set I paid to have done and its near identical. This setup gives me confidence to move forward with a small business opportunity. Thank You to Columbia Coatings for developing this gun.
